The handling of mechanical components requires robust, reliable systems capable of ensuring a controlled flow between manual loading and unloading operations.
At MORC2, we design and manufacture automated conveyor systems for the industrial sector, developing custom solutions for handling components such as gearbox housings (up to 25 kg).
A concrete example is an Intralox S2400 conveyor designed to transfer the gearheads between a storage area and a picking area.
The line’s operation is managed by photoelectric sensors that detect the presence of the product at the input and output, synchronizing the belt’s movement with the operators’ actions.
The machine can operate in two modes:
- step mode, in which the product advances in controlled steps only when the exit zone is clear
- continuous mode, in which the conveyor belt runs until the outgoing product is detected
In both cases, the system automatically shuts down if the product is not retrieved, preventing product buildup and ensuring operational safety.
The system also features wash cycles that can be selected from the operator panel to facilitate maintenance and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
This solution improves ergonomics, optimizes workflow, and ensures controlled and reliable handling of components.
Special attention has been given to protecting the product during handling: the system has been designed to prevent damage to the underside of components that come into contact with the chain, while also avoiding any alteration or contamination of the lubrication on the gearboxes. To ensure this level of cleanliness, a continuous chain cleaning and drying system has been integrated, supplemented by wash cycles that can be selected directly from the operator panel, which also help facilitate maintenance activities.
